Helping Leaders Remove Friction So They Can Focus on What Matters Most
We believe growth doesn't come from working harder.
It comes from seeing the problem differently.
Too often, leaders respond to growth challenges by adding more.
More meetings
More software
More people
More initiatives
More effort
But after years of leading teams, building businesses, and helping organizations navigate complexity, I've found that lasting growth usually starts by removing what's getting in the way.
That's the work we do at Intentional Focus.
Not by treating symptoms. By uncovering the friction beneath them.
“
Most leaders don't have an effort problem. They have a friction problem.
MY STORY
I've always been drawn to building things.

At fourteen, I started my first landscaping business. A few years later, I began buying and renovating homes. That eventually led me to study Construction Management at the University of Cincinnati and spend nearly a decade managing commercial construction projects.
Those experiences taught me far more than how buildings go together.
✓ They taught me how systems work.
✓ How people work.
✓ And how small decisions made early create massive outcomes later.
Throughout my career, I've had the opportunity to lead multimillion-dollar construction projects, oversee large operational teams, guide organizations serving more than a million guests each year, and help businesses and nonprofits navigate seasons of significant growth.
No matter the industry, I kept seeing the same pattern.
The organizations that struggled weren't lacking talented people. They were buried beneath friction.
-
Misaligned priorities.
-
Disconnected systems.
-
Unclear communication.
-
Constant interruptions.
Everyone was working hard. Very few people had the space to think clearly.
That realization changed the way I approached leadership.

Working harder isn't always the answer. Sometimes the answer is removing what's getting in the way.
THE TRANSFORMATION SPARK
The biggest moments weren't promotions or titles.
They were moments when I realized I had been solving the wrong problem.
✓ I learned that changing behavior isn't enough if your mindset hasn't changed first.
✓ I learned that systems should reduce stress, not create more of it.
✓ I learned that structure doesn't limit freedom. It creates it.
✓ Most importantly, I learned that leadership isn't about carrying more. It's about helping others carry the right things.
Those moments became what we now call Transformation Sparks, the moments when a new perspective unlocks a completely different path forward.
Those are the moments I love helping clients discover.

“
Transformation begins when someone sees the problem differently.
WHY INTENTIONAL FOCUS EXISTS
I didn't start Intentional Focus because I wanted to become a consultant.
I started it because I kept meeting incredible leaders who cared deeply about their people but felt stuck.
They weren't lazy. They weren't incapable. They weren't failing. They were simply carrying too much complexity.
My goal isn't to hand clients another binder, another strategic plan, or another software recommendation. It's to help them:
✓ Think more clearly
✓ Create alignment around what matters most
✓ Build systems they actually trust
✓ And ultimately create the space to lead with confidence again
BEYOND WORK
Intentionality doesn't begin when you walk into the office.
If you've listened to our podcast, you've probably realized I don't believe intentionality begins when you walk into the office. It starts long before that.
-
I'm a husband.
-
A dad.
-
A follower of Christ.
-
An avid learner.
-
Someone who's still working every day to become more intentional with my faith, family, fitness, finances, and work.
I don't have it all figured out. Far from it. That's one of the reasons we named our podcast Kind of Intentional. Because none of us get this right all the time. We're simply trying to make one better decision today than we made yesterday.
That's the journey I'm on personally. And it's the journey I love helping others take.

HOW WE WORK
Everything we do is built around three simple ideas.
Simple doesn't mean easy. But it does mean sustainable.
Let's discover what's possible together.
Whether you're leading a growing business, a nonprofit serving your community, or simply trying to become more intentional in your own life, I'd love to help you uncover what's getting in the way.
